Defend Four New Tracks

The expansion introduces four new tracks, each with its own layout and challenges. You can battle through the Sandy Spiral, navigate the Subterranean Sewers, explore the Monkey Temple, and tackle the unusual Triangle of Insanity.

The different track designs mean that your usual tower setup may not work everywhere. Study the path, identify the best locations for your towers, and build a defense that takes advantage of each map's layout.

Build Your Monkey Defense

The core objective remains familiar: stop the Bloons before they reach the end of the track. Place monkey towers beside the path, earn money from popping Bloons, and spend your cash on additional defenses and upgrades.

The expansion builds on the tower system from BTD4 and includes the Dartling Gun and Spike Factory among its expanded tower options. Combining different towers lets you create defenses suited to the Bloons and track you're facing.

Think carefully about where you spend your money. A tower with excellent range can cover a large part of a track, while specialized defenses can help deal with particular types of Bloons. Finding an efficient combination is an important part of surviving the harder rounds.

Try Deflation Mode

One of the biggest additions in Bloons TD 4 Expansion is Deflation Mode. Instead of earning additional money throughout the game, you begin with $50,000 and have to make that money last.

There is no income from popping Bloons or completing normal rounds, and Banana Farms are disabled. Every purchase therefore matters, making Deflation a different kind of tower-defense challenge. You need to plan your entire defense around a fixed budget rather than relying on a growing economy.

Customize Your Strategy With Tower Specialties

The expansion also introduces Tower Specialties, giving you another way to customize your strategy.

Specialties reduce the cost of selected towers and their upgrades while increasing the cost of other defenses. This encourages you to focus your strategy around a particular group of towers instead of using everything at the normal price. Additional specialties can be unlocked by completing the expansion's tracks at the required difficulty levels.

This system makes each game feel different because your preferred tower combination can become significantly cheaper, while other options become more expensive.

Discover the Monkey Temple

One of the expansion's most memorable locations is the Monkey Temple track. The map contains a special secret that gives experienced players another objective to discover while playing through the expansion.

The combination of new tracks, specialized strategies, and hidden content gives BTD4 Expansion more replay value than simply adding a few extra levels to the original game.

How to Play Bloons Tower Defense 4 Expansion

Bloons TD 4 Expansion is played with the mouse. Select towers and place them in suitable positions around the track, then use your earned money to purchase additional defenses and upgrades.

Pay attention to your available cash, especially in Deflation Mode. Since you cannot generate additional income there, wasting money early can leave you without enough resources to handle later waves.
