Octoplex Commodore 64 game

Octoplex is a video game published in 1989 on Commodore 64 by M.A.D.. It's an action game, set in a fantasy theme, and was also released on Amstrad CPC.

Wizards are a bad bunch to cross, especially if they're nasty, horrible ones like Zolt. But, cross him you did, so he did some- thing despicable to you in return.

What he did was use a spell on you, hence you have been trans- formed into a genetic freak. But that's not all! He's also thrown you into his gigantic molecular prison, called by those in the know as Octoplex. And it isn't a very nice place. So, not surprisingly, you must find your way out.

And while you may think that that's the opening for another shoot-em-up, think again. Because Octoplex is an advanced version of the old Painter coin-op. It begins with an animated intro screen, unusual for a budget release, and while the game itself breaks no boundaries as far as programming is concerned, it's an enjoyable little romp which should keep the bairns quiet for a while.
