Tomb Chess Strategy game

Tomb Chess

Tomb Chess is a unique strategy puzzle game that mixes chess-inspired gameplay with hidden pieces, undead creatures, and a mysterious graveyard. Instead of seeing your army at the beginning of the game, you must uncover the graves one by one and discover which ghoul has been hiding underneath. Some discoveries will help you, while others may reveal a piece belonging to your opponent.

The goal is to clear the graveyard of your opponent's pieces while protecting your own. Every move can reveal new information, but it can also create an unexpected threat. Tomb Chess combines the tactical thinking of chess with the hidden information and surprise of a dark chess game, making every match different.

How to Play Tomb Chess

Playing Tomb Chess online is easy to learn, but winning requires careful planning. The board begins covered with graves. Click an unopened grave to reveal a ghoul. The piece that appears may belong to you or to your opponent, so revealing a new piece always carries a risk.

Once one of your ghouls has been revealed, you can move it to an adjacent square. Unlike standard chess, the pieces move one space at a time horizontally or vertically. You can also attack an opposing ghoul when it is next to your piece.

Discover the Hidden Ghouls

The hidden-piece mechanic is what makes Tomb Chess different from a traditional chess game. You don't know exactly where the stronger pieces are until they are revealed, and you have to make decisions with incomplete information.

Each ghoul has a strength level from 1 to 6. In general, a stronger piece can capture an opposing piece of equal or lower strength. There is also an important exception: the weakest pawn can defeat the strongest king, while the king cannot capture the pawn.

This means that even a seemingly weak piece can become dangerous in the right position. Pay attention to the pieces that have already been revealed and think carefully before exposing another grave.

Strategy, Risk and Surprise

Good Tomb Chess strategy isn't simply about attacking. Because the pieces are hidden, you need to balance exploration with positioning. Revealing another grave may give you a powerful ghoul, but it could just as easily uncover an enemy piece in an inconvenient location.

Try to remember which pieces have already appeared, protect valuable ghouls, and take advantage of opportunities to capture weaker opponents. As the graveyard becomes more exposed, the information you've gathered becomes increasingly important.

A game can finish when one side's pieces have been eliminated, while certain stalemate situations can also bring the match to an end.
