Fireboy and Watergirl in The Light Temple is a cooperative puzzle platform game where two characters must work together to escape each level. You can play with a friend on the same keyboard or control both Fireboy and Watergirl yourself.

The temple introduces light beams and mirrors as an important part of the puzzles. Redirect beams toward sensors to activate platforms and mechanisms, then use the newly opened routes to help both characters progress. Other challenges involve buttons, levers, moving platforms, boxes and rolling balls.

Fireboy and Watergirl have different abilities and weaknesses. Fireboy can safely travel through fire and lava, while Watergirl can move through water. Neither character should touch the opposite element, and green pools are dangerous to both. This means that many levels require careful coordination so that one character can help the other reach the next section.

Along the way, collect red diamonds with Fireboy and blue diamonds with Watergirl, while solving the puzzles and making your way to the matching exit doors. Completing a level requires getting both characters safely to their destinations.

Controls

Fireboy is controlled with the Arrow Keys, while Watergirl uses W, A, S and D. The two characters can be controlled simultaneously, making the game suitable for two-player cooperative play as well as solo play.

The challenge comes from coordinating their movements. One character may need to stand on a button while the other crosses a platform, or one hero may need to adjust a mechanism before the other can continue.
