zolyx Commodore 64 game

Zolyx is a video game for the Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, and ZX Spectrum platforms. The game was developed by Firebird Software and released in 1987.

In the game, the player controls a single pixel. As the pixel moves around the playing area, it leaves a trail behind. When this trail encloses an area, it becomes a colored (purple) block. Enemy pixels move around the screen and, upon contact, decrease the player's lives. If an enemy pixel touches a line that the player is "drawing," the player also loses a life. Pixels are connected to only one color (black or purple). If the player "captures" a pixel by enclosing it in an area, the pixel's connected color changes. Once the player has enclosed 75% of the playing area (in purple), they win. They can then continue to try and improve their score on the leaderboard.
