Despite having the same title and being published by the same company, the Amiga version of Santa's Xmas Caper is different from its 8-bit counterparts. Rather than being a scrolling shoot 'em up game, it is a platform game.
As Santa is riding on his sleigh, all of his presents are lost and scattered throughout the country. Santa must navigate through multiple scrolling platform levels to collect all the presents. Once all presents are collected, an exit opens up to allow him to advance to the next level. Each level is filled with dangerous obstacles such as spikes, slippery platforms, and cute but troublesome enemies. Santa can use snowballs to temporarily stun the enemies. By completing all seven levels, Christmas will be saved.
