Build Your Monkey Defense

The basic goal is simple: pop every Bloon before it escapes. Each track has a path that the Bloons follow, giving you specific areas where you can position your towers.

Money earned from popping Bloons can be spent on additional towers and upgrades. Since every tower has different abilities and attack patterns, choosing where to place each one is just as important as choosing which towers to buy.

Look for positions where a tower can attack Bloons for a long time or cover multiple sections of the track. As the waves become harder, you'll need to improve your defenses rather than relying on your starting setup.

Unlock and Upgrade Towers

Bloons Tower Defense 4 introduces a much larger selection of towers and upgrade possibilities than its predecessors. The game includes classic defenses alongside newer additions, giving you more ways to deal with increasingly dangerous Bloon waves.

Among the notable towers are the Dart Monkey, Tack Shooter, Boomerang Thrower, Bomb Tower, Ice Tower, Super Monkey, Monkey Buccaneer, Monkey Ace, Mortar Tower, Banana Farm, and Spike Factory. The original BTD4 also introduced several military-style towers to the series.

Tower upgrades let you specialize your defenses for different situations. Experiment with different upgrade paths to discover combinations that work well on each track.

Explore Multiple Tracks

One of the biggest improvements in BTD4 is the number and variety of tracks. Different layouts change the way you need to build your defense, while maps with water introduce new strategic possibilities for towers such as the Monkey Buccaneer.

A tower placement that works perfectly on one map may be much less effective on another. Learning the layout of each track and adapting your strategy is an important part of the game.

Try Different Game Modes

Bloons TD 4 offers more than the standard tower defense experience. The game includes Career Mode, Sandbox Mode, and Apopalypse Mode, giving you different ways to play and experiment with your defenses.

Sandbox Mode is particularly useful when you want to experiment with towers and Bloons without playing through a normal campaign. Apopalypse Mode changes the pace of the game by sending rounds continuously without the usual breaks between them.

The original game also received updates that added additional tracks, challenges, and tower content over its lifetime.

Defeat the Toughest Bloons

As you progress, the Bloons become faster, stronger, and more difficult to stop. BTD4 also introduces the B.F.B. (Brutal Floating Behemoth), a large MOAB-class Bloon that requires serious firepower to defeat.

Building an effective defense means thinking ahead. You need enough basic towers to handle ordinary Bloons while saving resources for stronger defenses capable of dealing with the tougher enemies.
