Back in Time is a classic Flash point-and-click adventure game from Carmel Games. You play as Dr. Bill E. Robinson, the inventor of the world's first time machine. During a demonstration, an unexpected accident sends him back to the Middle Ages, leaving him stranded in the past with one goal: find enough power to restart his time machine and return to the present.

Trapped in the Middle Ages

Dr. Bill's time machine works, but not quite as planned. An unexpected spider-related accident activates the machine while he is inside it, sending him to a completely different era. Now he must explore his unfamiliar surroundings and figure out how to get back home.

The medieval setting provides a variety of characters, objects, and locations to investigate. Look around carefully and interact with anything that might help Dr. Bill repair his situation.

Solve Point-and-Click Puzzles

Back in Time uses classic mouse-based point-and-click gameplay. Click on objects and characters to explore the environment, collect useful items, uncover clues, and solve puzzles. Some objects need to be used together or taken to the correct location before you can progress.

The puzzles are designed around observation and experimentation. If you become stuck, examine the surroundings again and consider how an item from your inventory could be useful elsewhere.

Find a Way Back Home

The main objective is to find enough power to reactivate the time machine. To accomplish this, Dr. Bill must work his way through the medieval environment and complete a series of interconnected tasks.

The adventure combines time travel, exploration, item collection, puzzle solving, and comedy, creating a short and accessible browser adventure. Its straightforward controls make it easy to pick up, while the unusual situations provide plenty of entertaining moments.

A Classic Carmel Games Flash Adventure

Back in Time was developed by Carmel Games for Snap Break and was released in 2013. It was created as a Flash point-and-click adventure and was also listed with tags such as Adventure, Point and Click, Mouse Only, Funny, Escape, Puzzle, and 5 Minute.

The game later received a sequel, Back in Time 2, which follows a different time-travel adventure set in the 1990s.
